2008 Fundraising Goal: $40,000

Greeting Snakes,

Welcome to our new Theta Beta Chapter’s Alumni website. The primary goal for this website is to increase the communication between the alumni and to raise funds to save the Theta Beta Chapter at the University of South Dakota.

For those of you that have been out of the loop, You can read the complete status of where we are at as a chapter, as well as updated messages from the new Alumni Board, new Housing Corp and the new Active Chapter President to the right of this page under News Updates. Also, check out the Alumni Directory on top of the page to find out out what old friends are doing now and their contact info. More are registering daily, you can search for lost snakes under the search button either by name, pin number, city or state-or just scroll down the directory page by page.

But today Sigma Nu needs your help! We need all alumni to update their contact information on the website and also help contact and locate more of the nearly 700 Sigma Nu Alumni across the country. Sigma Nu Theta Beta has started an aggressive campaign to raise 40,000 dollars this year (2008) to continue to invest in and save the House. You can read more under News Updates to find out future plans and what the money we are raising will be spent on.

Click on “Update Contact Information” to add your new or current info in the Simga Nu database and to make a pledge. Then click on “Donate Here” to send in your donation to help save the house.

NEWS FLASH……………… 8.15.2008

Along with the fundraising, the 40 for 40 campaign includes the rallying of our alumni for our 40th anniversary. We want to honor the first 40 active members of Theta Beta at the 40th Anniversary banquet. We need a volunteer from this group that can help spearhead this effort. We need help tracking down all of the men, so we really need someone from that year group help plan the event.

Our 40th Anniversary Celebration is being held the weekend of September 19-20. We are planning a casual event that everyone will enjoy.

The celebration comes at the end of Rush week so we hope all the alumni will come meet the actives and new candidates.

We have lost touch with many of the founding members of Theta Beta, so it would be very exciting if we could get them to come back for the event.
